If you have any issues with the following rules, or would like to add new ones, please feel free to note me about it.

TL;DR: Read what's in bold and you'll be fine.


1) No Harassment

I cannot stress how little tolerance there is for harassment in MLPFiMChatroom. If you wouldn't want to be treated in a way, or think someone wouldn't wish to be treated in a way, don't treat them that way. Repeated annoyance after someone asks you to stop also fits under this category, as does consistent trolling. If you feel you are being harassed or mistreated, either notify a moderator or myself, via note if you have to. EVERYONE is covered under this rule, including mods, members, admins, and the chat owner. Bottom line: Don't harass ANYONE.


2) No Argumentative Drama

Do not get involved with drama/arguments that involve personal issues, anger, etc. Let the moderators and admins break it up and disperse it. Take it to another room if you can, or simply drop it.


3) No Spamming

This one should be obvious:
-Don't keep posting the same thing over and over in rapid succession.
-Do not post if it only serves the purpose to annoy.
-Do not use unnecessarily long words/posts that may stretch the screen.

Punishment depends on how bad it is.


4) No Roleplaying in Main Room

The room used to allow roleplaying, but since then has grown to be one of the most popular rooms on dA, and as such simply can't allow roleplaying to contribute to the flow of text. Messing around is okay from time to time, but conducting roleplays is against the rules. We simply ask you go to a private room for any roleplays. As of April 30, 2012, role playing is allowed in our new role play room posted in the title.


5) Newcomers May Not Idle

Newcomers may not idle more than 1 hour without letting an admin or moderator at the time know and provide consent. If they do, it will be an instant kick. This will repeat until they're active enough to be promoted to members, who can idle as much as they please.

6) No Discussion of Shock Stories and/or Sites

Everypony knows about Cupcakes. There's so much Cupcakes fanart it's almost outweighing the canon Pinkie Pie art. Cupcakes is a prime example of what a Shock Story is. Do not link Shock Stories and/or Sites in the chatroom.


7) No Ignoring Moderators or Administrators(DA site, or chat)

If you have SuperDAmn (or not), don't ignore a moderator or administrator in the chat or on DA. Doing so will result in a kick, then a ban, as it impedes our progress to resolve issues.

8) No Personal Bots

Pretty straight forward. No personal bots. If you bring it in, it will be banned. If you use a bot on your account name, don't bring it in here. We have a bot that can do everything that, and more than, personal bots can do.

9) No Advertising

This rule is enforced more strictly on newcomers. This is not a room where you can come in and say "Hey, check this out! I made it!" and then leave. If someone does that, they will be banned on the spot. As for members, please don't advertise for other chat rooms or try to pull traffic away from the room.


Universal Chatroom Rules

This is just to remind/inform some of you who have yet to read the general DA chatroom rules or have not read them in a long time. These are the ones we stress.

1) You are only allowed to have one copy of yourself in the room.

2) If an account of yours is already a member, you may not have alternate accounts as members.


Shero's Amendments: Rule Amendments I, II, and III

I) In the event a moderator is unable to work the chat past any argument that gets out of hoof, an admin will take away chatting privileges of every normal class (and moderators if need be) until they can make a declaration of peace. If, after the room is given permission to speak again, the "drama" is brought up again by anypony and/or the declaration is argued, they will be placed on a 12-hour silence without warning. Yes, this is ridiculously strict, but fair. If you refuse to cooperate with us, we will force you to.

II) MLP, plz, and RP accounts are not allowed in the room, save for written exceptions, which will be written here. Each account has been justified, either on the grounds that every Admin and Moderator is allowed one alternate account in case dA's chats glitch, or they happen to be someone's main account by long term.

III) This room is truly a democracy, in that the ponies have the power. If the chat owner receives enough complaints about any particular individual, said individual may be banned with no warnings, nor kicks, nor silences to precede the ban.


Tex's Amendments: Rule Amendments IV, V, VI and VII

IV) No Spoilers: When a new MLP:FiM episode comes out, it is forbidden from discussion in the chat room until the following Monday. Spoilers will result in an immediate silence until Monday. Hints will get you a warning, kick, then silence.

V) No Moderators nor Administrators may speak for the ruler. If they want something done a certain way, they will send a note to ALL involved or they will put it in the topic. It is best to do what a moderator or administrator says, though. In the event that the ruler may not have had time to announce a change, and a moderator or admin is saying it is by their word, use BronyBot: logmarker, and note the ruler.

VI) Squire Class Addition: A Squire is a moderator on probation before they become a full-fledged moderator. If I receive bad reviews about a Squire, that they aren't doing their job, breaking the rules, etc... then they will be demoted. However, the opposite may happen; I receive good reviews about them and they will be promoted. They have limited power, so you have not much to fear from them. Admins may bring them down if they are witness to the act, "Knights" may do the same. A chat log shall be sent to the owner in such a situation.

VII) In reference to Shero's Amendment III, no member shall send complaints to somepony, other than the chat owner. Only the chat owner has the ability to deal with these sorts of issues. If it is found that you are trying to go to another source, it may just be forwarded to the chat owner anyways. TEMPORARY NOTE: Shero needs to focus on school and it's rather selfish that you guys won't let him. If anyone would like to complain, Tex will listen, investigate, and resolve the issue. Shero can't do any of that anymore. So, for Shero's sake, stop going to him, and go to Tex, otherwise, nothing will get done, and you will be silenced for a day.

Moderator Rules/Enforcement

1) No Abusing Power*

This rule means moderators MUST have a reason to kick, silence, or ban. This reason is usually because the rules are being broken. Members, be careful when calling this out! There are plenty of things the mods may do. In fact, it's better not to call the mod out on this, but to log it, or use the BronyBot's "logmarker" command, and note the room owner. If you call them out, it causes drama. We don't want that!


2) No Insubordination*

Moderators MAY NOT insubordinate those in the same rank as them. Believe it or not, moderators are held to the same rules our members are and even more.


3) Leave Behind Bias

Do not let your decisions be biased. Several notes have been received where no one was doing anything wrong, but bias would make it appear so. Please leave it out of your decision making.


4) Greet All Newcomers

It is VERY IMPORTANT that somepony actually greets our newcomers. It is required for mods and admins, however it is welcomed for members to greet newcomers.


5) Professionalism and Politeness*

Do not be mean to other members and please be respectful to everypony.


6) Idling

Moderators, please try to avoid idling for long periods of time. If you are leaving for more than 30 minutes, please leave the room, as we get newcomers and members questioning where our moderators are at.


MEMBERS: If you find any mods are breaking the rules marked with a (*), or the rules in the first section, BronyBot: logmarker and note me or use the bot's "logmarker" command. I will find it.


Enforcement Policy: IMPORTANT

For each rule, it is a warning, a kick with a warning attached, a warning of being banned, then a ban. The ban will be temporary and will be carried out by using the BronyBot's "tban" command. If a user constantly causes disruptions, breaks rules, etc, then they may be subject to a permanent ban.



NEWCOMERS: IF YOU READ THUS FAR, SCROLL DOWN TO THE "swap" COMMAND! It will tell you how to change your class when promoted. This is to ensure that you read the rules. Also, please take the time to give your name to if you are interested.

help:
Display help on various commands.
Bronybot: help [command] – Gives help on commands.

away:
Displays a message if you get tabbed.
BronyBot: away [reason] – Reason is optional.
BronyBot: back
BronyBot: customaway change gone [any message] – Allows you to change the message the bot displays if tabbed.
BronyBot: customaway del gone – Deletes the custom away message and restores the default.

welcome:
Sets your custom welcome message.
BronyBot: welcome [any message] – sets any message as welcome.
BronyBot: welcome clear – clears your welcome message.

note:
Allows you to send a message in the chatroom they'll receive it after they join the room.
BronyBot: note [username] [message] – sends the message to the user.
BronyBot: note read – allows you to read the message.
BronyBot: note clear – clears your messages.

hoof:
Allows you to brohoof somepony.
BronyBot: hoof [username]

ponydex:
Shows a small description of a desired pony.
BronyBot: ponydex [pony] (all names are written with capital letter. Ie: Fluttershy).
BronyBot: ponydex list - Shows a list of avaliable ponies.

music:
Post a random link to a song.
BronyBot: music

logmarker:
Marks the log at the exact moment, needed if you need to mark a relevant event.
BronyBot: logmarker

about :
Display infomation about the bot.
Bronybot: about – Display Bot type and owner.
Bronybot: about uptime – display the amount of time the bot has been running.
Bronybot: about all – display all the above infomation.

howlong:
Shows the time a user has been in the room.
BronyBot: howlong

ping:
Ping the bot to find out how much lag it has.
Bronybot: ping

swap
BronyBot: swap [privclass] allows the users to swap their class, only between the member classes.

tban (Mods and Admins only)
BronyBot: tban [user] [time in seconds] bans said user for the set time.
Conversions:
3600 = 1 hour
21600 = 6 hours
43200 = 12 hours
86400 = 1 day
172800 = 2 days
259200 = 3 days
